6 HOURS!!

So, last night Ryan slept for 6 straight hours!! I couldn't believe it when I woke up and looked at the clock. I started counting the hours (and recounting them to double check). I was shocked. I was thinking, if we were lucky, Ryan might get a 5-6 hour stretch of sleep in the next couple weeks when he was around 7-8wks old (that's about when Tyler had his first long stretch). Up to now we've had a few 4 hour stretches but usually Ryan likes his 3 hours of sleep the best. What a nice surprise! Ryan went to bed around 10:15 last night & woke up for a feeding around 4:10am.
I remember when Tyler first had his long stretch of sleep I woke up just shortly before he did almost in a panic thinking why haven't I heard him. I hate to admit it, but it was a little different this time. This time, Ryan woke me up with his trademark squeaking, and I was still pretty sleepy. I guess when you have two little ones you're a little less panicky and need that sleep even more.
Now, if we can just make this 6 hours a regular thing. Plus, I still need to work on getting six straight hours ... I probably went to bed & fell asleep about an hour after Ryan did last night. Don't get me wrong, 5 hours is Fantastic ... I'll take whatever I can get.

One Month

Ryan is 1 month old! I don't know where all the time has gone (I know it hasn't been sleeping), but he's already 1 month old! He's getting to be a big boy. At his check up Ryan weighed in at 10 lbs 9 oz and was 22 1/4 in long.

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween everyone! We had a great Halloween this year. Tyler was really excited about everything and loved getting to trick-or-treat.

The Thursday before Halloween, Tyler's school had a Halloween parade (which was so cute). All the kids were dressed in their costumes & they paraded into the gym. Then after the parade they were able to go trick-or-treating to the different classrooms. On Halloween Tyler, Ryan and I went up to Galyn's office for trick-or-treating. Tyler liked scaring everyone with his dinosaur costume ... ROAR ... and grabbing handfuls of candy out of candy bowls.

We also carved our first family pumpkin. Tyler thought it was cool, until he had to grab out the seeds ... then he wasn't too sure about it. He let Daddy clean the pumpkin out, but Tyler told us what shape eyes & nose he wanted & how many teeth the jack-o-lantern should have. He really liked the finished jack-o-lantern all lit up.

Trick-or-Treating was a lot of fun ... Tyler was very excited to see his neighborhood friends (Sarah & Izzy). He loved getting to go around to the different houses. When we were done going around the neighborhood we came back home to hand out candy. Tyler had as much fun with this as he did with the actual trick-or-treating. We sat on the front porch and when Tyler would see kids coming up to the house he would yell, "Come and get your candy people" and when they got to the porch he would hand them some candy and tell them, "here are your candy bars". It was really funny to watch him.
