6 Months Old

Six Months! Ryan had his 6 month check up earlier this week. The Doctor said he looked great and very healthy. He weighed 20 lbs ... okay it was 19 lb 15 oz ... but I'm going to round up because I know that he has already gained that additional ounce! His length was 27 1/4 inches.
From his 4 month check up to 6 month he gained 3 lbs! He also has a new tooth. One of his top teeth broke through the gums, so he is now up to 3 teeth. I think it will be 4 teeth pretty soon. The other top tooth looks close to breaking through.

Ryan has also started to get into a crawling position! (Help me now! I don't think I'm ready for this!!) He will get his knees under him and get up on his forearms. He will rock back and forth and then scoot forward. He can go all the way across the living room rug to get one of his toys. We call it the inchworm crawl. Tyler was never a good crawler. He did the army crawl, so he was never very fast. I don't know how I'm going to keep up with a fast crawler. Maybe he'll just continue to inchworm everywhere.

OMG .... She's got a Spoon

We have introduced Ryan to some new food!

Me: Open wide ... here it comes!

Ryan: Is she serious?

Ryan: She is serious.

Ryan: Someone help ... there's a spoon in my mouth

Me: MMM, isn't that good!
Ryan: Not really ...

Ryan: Okay. Now what? It's in my mouth.

Ryan: I know, I'll spit it out. That will show her! Oh, wait. She caught it with the spoon!?!

He's actually doing much better with the food now. He especially seems to like carrots. I think he's really going to like the fruit.

Easter

As promised ... here are pictures from Easter Time! There was so much that we did leading up to Easter - Egg Hunts, Coloring Eggs, visiting the Easter Bunny, Ear Infections, so on and so on... Yes, I did say Ear infection ... another one, argh. On Saturday before Easter, Tyler woke up during the night complaining about his ear. It took us while, but finally we were able to get him back into bed & to sleep with the help of Tylenol and ear drops. Easter morning he woke up complaining about his ear, but otherwise seemed to be in a pretty good mood. We decided to take him to one of the care now places to have his ears checked & to get on some antibiotics asap. Since Tyler was acting pretty good ... not complaining about any pain and no fever, we decided we would still go to church. Galyn and Tyler went to the doctor while I got myself, Ryan and everything else ready so we could leave as soon as they got back. It ended up working out perfectly. Ty got the medicine he needed & we still got to church on time. But, we did have to do Easter baskets when got back home.

Here are some pictures from one of the many egg hunts we did. Tyler was very into hunting eggs (although, not much hunting skills were needed).

He was very excited to find things inside the eggs.

Visiting the Easter Bunny!

We were at the mall. I saw they had an Easter Bunny so we walked by. As soon as Tyler saw the bunny he said he wanted to see him. I was a little surprised at his willingness (as the Bunny is a little scary), but thought he is initiating it ... lets go! There was no line and we walked right up there, Tyler leading the way. I wrestle the double stroller through the roped area, got Ryan out & walk up to the bunny. The whole time Ty is checking the Easter Bunny out. I put Ryan on the bunny's lap and go to get Tyler.

Tyler then informs me, "Uh, Ryan can go."

Me: "You don't want to see the Easter Bunny?"

Tyler: "No, Ryan can."

So basically he just sent his brother into the lion's den. Let's go, let's go ... umm, I'm out. Ryan, you can go. Tyler did end up sitting with the Easter Bunny ... But only after I told him we would be getting ChickFilA for lunch once we were done with Mr. Bunny.

Once you sat with the bunny they gave you fun little bunny ears!

We loved them.

Waiting for ChickFilA

Coloring Easter Eggs!

Tyler really enjoyed coloring the eggs ... picking which colors they would be, putting stickers on them & eating them.

Tyler would crack an egg and then tell me it was broken ... we need to eat it. I'm pretty sure there is a limit to the number of hard boiled eggs your 2 year old should eat in a day ... I picked two eggs as our limit.

Oh Man, Colored Eggs! Well, I've never ....

I'm going to get it ...

Almost ...

Got it!

Eggs for everyone!

Easter Day.
Here is Ryan in his cute little Easter outfit!

After church, we ate at Abuelos ... it was very good, but Tyler was more impressed with the statue.

What a cute family!

Famous Last Words

Here are a few new pictures of us.

If you haven't checked out the last blog entry you should. . . It will give a quick little insight on what we've been up to.

And, fingers crossed, we should have some Easter pictures up shortly. These would be the famous last words ... because it did take me only a month to get the last entry posted.
