1. I'm pregnant ... about 29 1/2 weeks now, so not really new news. The pregnancy has been going great. I'm getting huge and based on how big I have been getting, I will be very disappointed if this is not a 10-12 pound baby. Oh, and the summer heat is wonderful.
Here is a picture of Baby at 20 weeks ...
This will be our 3rd BOY and we couldn't be more thrilled. Galyn is especially excited about the little yard crew we are quickly accumulating :)
This is me at 28 weeks.
This will be another c-section, and Baby is set to come September 2, 2010 ... at noon-ish. And, no, we have no names ... with first and middles names, it's difficult to come up with another two names we both like. But we know we will have something before we leave the hospital. They won't let you leave the hospital without the baby having a name.
2. Our first go with organized sports as parents.
We signed Tyler up to play soccer through the YMCA. 3 year old soccer. So, as you can imagine, each practice and game was a complete crap shoot. There was a lot a crying, coaching and convincing that had to be done, but Tyler loved it. On the other hand, Galyn (who was the assistant coach) had a little more of a love/hate relationship with this level of soccer. Galyn, who is somewhat competitive, could at times, be put out with the lack of focus and desire of the average 3 year old. By the end we were both glad the season was over. We did love it and loved watching Tyler improve. He began to understand the concept of team work, and the amount of crying when he didn't score lessened considerably. All in all, it was great and (with several months rest) we will be ready to resume some more organized sports.
3. 18 months ... time for serious injury ...
Apparently 18 months is a rough age around our house. (Tyler broke his leg at that age going down a slide) and now Ryan split open his forehead....
He did this back at the beginning of May, so things are much better now. But, it was quite the ordeal. Ryan tripped and fell while holding something in each hand and manage to land right on the corner of some base molding of a doorway. It was bleeding (gushing) everywhere and once I was able to get that to stop I could see there was quite a gash. So, off to the doctors. There, they glued it (which they said was better than stitches) and put some tape on it. But before they could do that they had to apply pressure to the area to get some of the swelling down so it would glue together tightly. Ryan did not like this ... (neither did Mommy). Then, because he was fighting being held, they had to strap him to a board to keep him from wiggling while the glue was put on. Oh, and the cut, it's right between the eyes. The doctor said it usually takes a scar about a year to run it's cycle ... but luckily, since babies grow and change so much, he doesn't thing the scar should be that bad (fingers crossed).
The Gash ...
Applying pressure to get the swelling down ... Mommy trying to comfort.
Just finished up the gluing.
All done... and Ryan was right back to normal. We got home and he went straight to the couch to do a little jumping ....

Here it is about 6 weeks later. Much improved!
4. Tyler turns 4!!
Time is going too fast! Tyler turned 4 years old on June 27th. He is getting to be such a big boy!
These are some of the big things we've been up to lately. Hopefully I will stay on top of this so there will be posts other than 'catch up' ones.
